Global Timepieces x Gerald Charles Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Brand

Recently, Mr. Franco Ziviani, Chairman of Gerald Charles, and Mr. Federico Ziviani, CEO, visited Global Timepieces at the Peninsula to celebrate the brand’s 25th anniversary.
Gerald Charles was founded in 2000 by the legendary watch designer Gérald Charles Genta, marking his last brand during his lifetime. Many of Genta’s designs remain unpublished and will be gradually realized by his friend and partner, the Ziviani family, in the future.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Gerald Charles. To celebrate, Gerald Charles and Global Timepieces hosted a cocktail party and dinner for esteemed guests. Mr. Franco and Mr. Federico joined in the festivities, showcasing the core collection of Gerald Charles and sharing insights into the intricate design of the watches.
The event showcased several exquisite masterpieces from Gerald Charles, including the Maestro 2.0 Ultra-Thin Lapis Lazuli and the Masterlink Blue.
The Maestro 2.0 Ultra-Thin Lapis Lazuli is a tribute to Mr. Genta’s favorite gemstone. This exquisite timepiece features a polished stainless-steel case and a resistant blue-coated bezel, along with a customized oscillating rotor that commemorates the brand’s 25th anniversary. Additionally, it showcases the Maison’s new logo and is completed with a Clou de Paris rubber strap, creating a perfect harmony of elegance and craftsmanship.
The inspiration for the Masterlink Blue comes from the timeless elegance of striped suits in Italian men’s haute couture. Masterlink represents the latest evolution of the Maestro case, crafted from medical-grade 316L stainless steel, and features a new asymmetric integrated bracelet while retaining the iconic “smile” design at 6 o’clock with smooth, rounded edges. Compared to the Maestro, the Masterlink is slimmer, lighter, and more relaxed, seamlessly blending fashion and sport.
About Gerald Charles:
Gerald Charles was founded in 2000 by the renowned and greatest watch designer of the 20th century, Mr. Gérald Charles Genta. Many classic timepieces, including the Patek Philippe Nautilus, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, and IWC Ingenieur, are masterpieces created by Mr. Genta. He named his latest brand after himself, establishing a unique connection with his creations.
Mr. Genta is often referred to as “Maestro,” an artist and prolific watch designer. After selling the company in 2003, he continued to serve as chief designer until his passing in 2011.
Mr. Genta left the company important archives of his original designs from the past 11 years. To this day, many of these designs remain unpublished, serving as a long-lasting source of inspiration and a treasure trove for the brand’s development.
